If you’re looking for the best breakfast in Boise, you’re in the right place—and yes, it’s absolutely worth setting an alarm for. Boise has a surprisingly strong breakfast and brunch scene, with everything from unapologetically indulgent bacon-heavy plates to polished, ingredient-driven brunch that feels special without being stuffy. These are the spots we actually ate at, ordered real food from, and would recommend to anyone planning a Boise trip.
If you’re building out your itinerary, staying near downtown makes breakfast hopping easy. Being able to walk (or at least drive five minutes) to most of these spots makes mornings far more enjoyable—something I always keep in mind when I’m looking at hotels near downtown Boise.

BACON makes its intentions very clear—and fully commits. This casual downtown spot leans hard into comfort food and bacon-forward dishes, and it’s a popular choice for brunch and lunch for a reason.
You can order a flight of bacon, which honestly tells you everything you need to know. We went with the bacon sampler featuring five different types of bacon, and our favorite was the Cajun blue cheese, one of their pantry flavors. Perfectly cooked, bold without being overpowering, and genuinely memorable. If bacon were my last meal, I’d be just fine with that decision.
Another standout was the perfectly puffed scones with homemade raspberry jelly, which deserve real recognition. Warm, soft, and just sweet enough, they were an unexpected favorite.
The menu is built around hearty breakfast plates, burgers and sandwiches, and sweet-and-savory brunch dishes, with brunch cocktails like mimosas and Bloody Marys rounding things out. Portions are generous, weekends get busy, and waits are common during peak hours.
The vibe is lively and social—this is not a quiet brunch spot. It’s a jeans-and-sneakers kind of place that fits perfectly into a downtown morning of walking, shopping, or mural spotting.

While Fork isn’t a traditional breakfast restaurant, their weekend brunch menu is strong enough that it absolutely earns a place on any best breakfast in Boise list—especially if you lean more brunch than early-morning diner food.
Fork’s brunch focuses on local ingredients and comforting, well-executed dishes that feel indulgent without being overdone. The Chef’s Bennys are a standout, built with local poached eggs, hollandaise, and crispy red breakfast potatoes. The Idaho version adds blackened and fried Idaho trout with Cajun hollandaise, which feels very on-brand for Boise and works surprisingly well.
The Croque Madame Sammy is another strong option, layered with a local egg, shaved ham, a cheddar-gruyère blend, arugula, and hollandaise on local sourdough. It’s rich, savory, and exactly what you want when you’re ordering brunch and not pretending to be light.
If you want something especially filling, the Farmer’s Bowl combines dry-aged pork belly, crispy red breakfast potatoes, onions, golden beets, peppers, scallions, two local eggs, and country-style sausage gravy. This is a no-snacking-needed, carry-you-through-the-day kind of dish.
Fork doesn’t overload the menu with sweets, but the few they offer are done really well. The Bread Pudding French Toast with vanilla bean whip, macerated berries, and pure maple syrup is rich without being overwhelming. There’s also a jumbo house-baked cinnamon roll with warm salted caramel sauce and cream cheese frosting, available until it sells out—so order early if that’s on your radar.
Brunch drinks lean into the occasion, with a solid Bloody Mary, a build-your-own mimosa setup that works especially well for groups, a fun frosé, and a Dawson Taylor cold brew topped with bar cream.
Fork’s brunch feels polished but relaxed. It’s ideal for a slower weekend morning, a casual date, or a “let’s eat somewhere really good” meal that doesn’t feel stuffy. If you want to see how Fork compares outside of brunch, see my full review of Fork in Boise for what we ordered at lunch and dinner.

We stopped at Broken Yolk Café in Meridian for breakfast, and it was exactly the kind of reliable spot you want before a full day of exploring. It is only 20 minutes from downtown Boise but worth the drive!
Broken Yolk focuses on classic American breakfast and brunch with slightly indulgent portions and a menu that truly has something for everyone. It’s not trying to be trendy—it’s just solid, filling, and dependable, which sometimes is exactly what you want.
We ordered the Cali Breakfast Burrito, packed with scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, homefries, and avocado, wrapped in a flour tortilla and served with Mexican rice, refried beans, and salsa fresca. It was hearty, satisfying, and the kind of breakfast that actually keeps you full for hours. We ate it so fast we forgot to take a picture, which feels like an honest review.
We also shared the Sweet Trio, which includes a slice of Tiki Toast, Crunchy French Toast, and a Cinna-Cake. It’s perfect if you want to try a few sweet options without committing to one massive plate, and it pairs well with a savory main.
The menu is extensive, with omelets, pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast burritos, skillets, burgers, and even lunch-style plates if you’re rolling in closer to brunch. They also offer brunch cocktails like mimosas and Bloody Marys.
The vibe is laid-back and family-friendly—lively without being overwhelming. Weekends can get busy mid-morning, but service is efficient, prices are reasonable for the portion sizes, and it’s a great option if everyone in your group wants something different.
Because this spot is outside downtown, renting a car in Boise makes things much easier, especially if you’re bouncing between Meridian and central Boise during your trip.

While these weren’t part of our main stops, they’re worth knowing about if you’re building out your Boise breakfast list.
Goldy’s Breakfast Bistro
Goldy’s is one of those places locals immediately mention when talking about the best breakfast in Boise. It’s a longtime favorite known for classic breakfast plates, generous portions, and consistently solid food. Expect a wait on weekends, but if you want a traditional Boise breakfast institution, this is the one people swear by.
Certified Kitchen & Bakery
Certified Kitchen & Bakery is a great option if you’re craving something cozy and bakery-forward. With scratch-made pastries, hearty breakfast plates, and a relaxed neighborhood vibe, it’s ideal for slower mornings or when you want coffee and something filling without committing to a full sit-down brunch.
Egg Mann and Earl
If you’re short on time or heading out early, Egg Mann and Earl is a solid grab-and-go option. Known for its breakfast sandwiches and casual counter-service setup, it’s perfect for fueling up quickly before exploring or hitting the road.
Boise truly delivers when it comes to breakfast and brunch, whether you want indulgent comfort food, elevated weekend brunch, or something quick and filling before a full day out. BACON is the go-big-or-go-home option, Fork shines for brunch lovers, and Broken Yolk Café is the dependable crowd-pleaser.

Your Knoxville Airport survival guide, from someone who’s flown through TYS 100+ times is now up on my blog🛫
Parking, TSA wait times, where to grab food before your flight, rental cars, all of it, from someone who actually knows this airport. No guessing, no googling at the last minute.
TYS is small, easy to navigate, and honestly one of the less stressful airports I’ve been through. You just need to know a few things going in.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a global charity event, classic and vintage bikes, dressed-up riders, raising money for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. The bikes are stunning. The outfits are even better.

Went in for Italian. Left thinking about pasta for three days straight.🍝
Osteria Stella in Knoxville is THE date night spot, pink door, moody lighting, and a radiatori con broccoli pesto that I would genuinely go back for alone. The lasagna comes out as its own perfect slice with crispy edges all around. The focaccia with garlic confit disappeared before anyone admitted to eating it.
Make a reservation. Order the pasta. Thank me later.

I walked down what looked like a regular hillside entrance and came out into a room that could almost fit a football stadium. 🪨 Tuckaleechee Caverns is the highest-rated cavern in the Eastern US and until you’re standing inside it, that’s just a fact. When you’re actually there, it feels earned.
Stalagmites 24 feet tall. A 210-foot underground waterfall. Formations that took 20 to 30 million years to build. A family that still runs the whole thing.
Bring a jacket. Wear good shoes. Don’t Google how it was discovered before you go hearing it on the tour is so much better.

If you’ve only ever seen the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge side of the Smokies, Townsend is going to feel like a completely different state. 🌲 No neon signs. No traffic. No crowds fighting for the same overlook.

⛰️ Tuckaleechee Caverns | Start underground with massive cave rooms, waterfalls & guided tours. Go early, beat the rush.
🍕 Peaceful Side Social | Made-from-scratch food, craft beer & mountain views. Fair warning: you’ll stay longer than planned.
