Staying at Atlantis The Palm is one of those Dubai experiences that feels big, bold, and unapologetically over-the-top—in the best way. This Atlantis The Palm Dubai review breaks down what it’s actually like from arrival to rooms, dining, and whether it’s worth dedicating several nights of your trip to one resort.
Atlantis The Palm sits at the very end of Palm Jumeirah, which already makes the arrival feel iconic. From Dubai International Airport, the drive usually takes about 35–45 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis and ride-shares are easy, and honestly, the drive is part of the experience—once you’re on the Palm, you can see Atlantis getting closer and closer until it’s right there at the end like a grand finale.
If you’re planning to explore beyond the resort or bounce around different parts of the city, renting a car can be convenient. Having your own wheels also gives you flexibility for beach clubs, viewpoints, and dinner plans without constantly waiting on rides or you can book day tours like this one.

Walking into Atlantis The Palm feels like stepping straight into an underwater fantasy. The lobby is massive, but the real showstopper is the enormous glass sculpture that immediately pulls your attention upward. The entire resort is designed around the legend of the lost city of Atlantis rising from the sea, and that theme actually feels cohesive—not cheesy.
The centerpiece is a jaw-dropping glass installation by Dale Chihuly, made up of more than 3,000 individually hand-blown glass pieces. Each piece was created using traditional hot-blown glass techniques and placed one by one. The full process took nearly two years to create and weeks to install on site. Photos genuinely don’t do it justice—you notice new shapes, colors, and details every time you look at it, and it sets the tone immediately: Atlantis does not do subtle.

Rooms at Atlantis are surprisingly spacious for such a massive resort. Many have balconies with views over the Palm, the Arabian Gulf, or the resort grounds, and everything feels polished thanks to the recent renovation. The rooms strike a good balance between feeling calm and comfortable while still fitting the scale of the resort. They work just as well for downtime as they do for quick resets between activities, which matters when there’s this much going on.

Atlantis originally opened in 2008, but it went through a major renovation about two and a half years ago, and it shows everywhere. Mattresses, guest rooms, interiors, and even the entire exterior were refreshed and repainted. I love that Atlantis doesn’t wait forever to renovate—it clearly prioritizes staying modern rather than coasting on its reputation.

In February 2023, the brand expanded with the opening of Atlantis The Royal, which debuted with an iconic Beyoncé performance—a very Dubai way to launch a hotel.
There’s also an adults-only beachfront area tucked toward the far end of the property. It feels intentionally separated from the main resort and noticeably calmer, which is a nice option if you want a break from the family-friendly energy without leaving Atlantis entirely.

One of the most unique parts of Atlantis The Palm is how immersed you are in marine life throughout the property. You’ll see sharks, rays, and colorful fish in various spaces, not just in the main aquarium. The Ambassador Lagoon is massive and easy to linger around longer than planned, especially since it even hosts a mermaid show that adds to the fantasy-driven, underwater vibe.
Atlantis also offers snorkeling, scuba diving, and an underwater walking experience where you wear a special air helmet and literally walk along the ocean floor. These experiences feel very on-brand for Atlantis—immersive, dramatic, and memorable rather than just novelty add-ons. You can book marine experiences and other Palm activities here, which is helpful if you want to plan ahead instead of sorting it out on arrival.

Dining at Atlantis The Palm could honestly be its own standalone trip. With 38 food and beverage outlets, you could stay for days and never repeat a restaurant. Options range from casual cafés and poolside spots to elevated à la carte dining and some of the most celebrated restaurants in the world.
The food scene is incredibly diverse—sushi, Persian flavors, refined Cantonese dishes, modern British cuisine, Latin American flavors, and easy comfort food all exist under one roof. Atlantis is home to three Michelin-starred restaurants, including Ossiano, which earned three Michelin stars in about a year—an almost unheard-of achievement. You’ll also find Nobu Dubai and Hakkasan Dubai, each holding one Michelin star, along with standout names like Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Ariana’s Persian Kitchen, Estiatorio Milos, and Wavehouse.
It’s not an exaggeration to say Atlantis is one of the top culinary destinations in Dubai, and possibly beyond. If you want a deeper dive into the most memorable meals, check out my full review of Ossiano to see why it stands out even in a resort full of heavy hitters.

For Atlantis The Palm, I’d recommend a minimum of 3–4 nights. There’s simply too much to do—marine experiences, dining, beach time, pools, and exploring the Palm—to rush through it. If Atlantis is a main focus of your trip, 4–5 nights feels ideal and allows you to enjoy the resort without constantly watching the clock.
For staying on the Palm, Atlantis is a classic choice and a great home base. You can find Atlantis and other Palm Jumeirah hotels here if you want to keep everything in this area.

The Palm Jumeirah area is absolutely worth exploring beyond just the resort. This is one of the best places in Dubai for sunset beach walks, waterfront views, and soaking up that polished, resort-style side of the city. The Palm is lined with impressive hotels, beach clubs, and restaurants, making it easy to turn an afternoon stroll into drinks or dinner without much planning.
For views from above, the Palm delivers. Parasailing, skydiving, and helicopter tours all give you that iconic aerial perspective—and even pulling it up on Google Maps to see the full palm shape is surprisingly wild. It’s one of those areas that feels distinctly “Dubai” and actually lives up to the hype.

Atlantis The Palm isn’t just a hotel—it’s a destination in itself. Between the immersive design, constant marine life presence, massive dining scene, and overall sense of spectacle, it delivers a stay that feels uniquely Dubai. Whether you’re here for luxury, food, or pure wow-factor, Atlantis The Palm fully commits to the experience—and that’s exactly why it works.

I walked down to the beach and immediately noticed how calm the water was. 🐚
It sits in a small cove, so there’s really no waves pushing in. You just walk right in without thinking about it. I grabbed my snorkel (they actually rent them for free at the resort, which I didn’t expect) and went out near the pier and stayed way longer than I planned, because the water was that clear.
Honest caveat: if you need a lot of energy and activity at a beach, this probably isn’t it. It’s quiet, it’s calm, and you’re mostly just... sitting there. Which for me was exactly the point.☀️

Dinner at Baoase in Curaçao isn’t just a restaurant, you’re walking into a full resort setting where everything feels intentional. The table is right by the water, the food is French-inspired with tropical and Asian flavors woven in, and the whole thing moves slowly in the best way. We sat there for hours and didn’t want it to end.
✨ Culinary Beach Restaurant, oceanside tables, candlelit ambiance
✨ French-inspired menu with tropical and Asian influences
✨ Service that’s attentive without being over the top
✨ The kind of dinner you’re still thinking about days later
Fair warning: this isn’t a casual grab-a-table kind of spot. You’re making a reservation, thinking through your outfit, and blocking off the whole evening and it’s worth every bit of that.
If you’re celebrating something or just want one dinner that feels a little extra, this is where to do it. Full Baoase resort review linked in bio. 🔗
Curaçao has the beaches everyone talks about, and then it has these. The spots that made this trip actually feel like mine weren’t on any resort map. I found them by renting a car, asking locals, and just following what looked good.
✨ Playa Lagun: a calm little cove where the water does all the work
✨ Playa Kalki: rocky entry, but the snorkeling right off shore is worth it
✨ Playa Jeremi: no rentals, no crowds, no setup. Just the beach
✨ Fort Nassau: watched the sun go down over Willemstad and stayed for dinner
✨ Hofi Cas Cora: breakfast on an actual farm and the freshest food of the whole trip
✨ Willemstad Street Party: I had no idea Thursday nights turned into that. Just followed the music.
✨ Playa Forti: cliff jumping and amazing food, talk about dinner and a show!
Honest caveat: if you need everything planned and structured, a few of these will feel a little too unpolished. But if you like the kind of trip where the best parts are the ones you stumble into, this is exactly that.

Here’s the thing about Curaçao that nobody talks about enough there’s really no bad time to go. 🌤️ Outside the hurricane belt. Mid-80s nearly every day of the year. Colorful buildings no matter what month it is.
But there IS a difference between going in peak season vs. shoulder season, and it shows up in your wallet, your beach chair availability, and how long you’re waiting for a table at dinner.
Full breakdown of every season, what to expect, and when I’d personally go linked in bio.
I wasn’t expecting much. I just needed dinner. 🍽️ Kome ended up being one of the best meals of the entire trip.
Wood-fired everything. A menu that actually makes you read it twice. A vibe in Pietermaai that feels nothing like a tourist restaurant and everything like somewhere locals actually go. I didn’t rush. I didn’t check my phone. I just ate, start to finish, and enjoyed every single second of it.
If you’re in Curaçao and you only have one nice dinner make it this one.
