Hideaway House is one of my favorite casual restaurants in Sedona, especially when I want good food without giving up the red rock views.
The menu focuses on Italian comfort food, including pizzas, pasta, salads, and house-made bread. You can eat outside on one of the three open-air patios tucked among the trees or sit inside in one of the smaller dining rooms or near the full-service bar.
It works especially well for lunch or an early dinner after hiking, sightseeing, or spending the day exploring Sedona. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, the portions are generous, and the pricing feels reasonable compared with many other restaurants in town.
The main reason I keep returning, though, is the Peach & Pancetta Pizza.
Hideaway House combines casual dining with some of the best restaurant views in Sedona. The building sits along the hillside, and the outdoor patios look out toward the surrounding red rocks.
There are three patios, along with indoor dining rooms and a full-service bar. The layout feels more intimate than one large restaurant, and the trees around the patios provide some shade and separation between the seating areas.
You do not need to dress up, which makes it an easy stop during a busy sightseeing day. You can arrive in casual clothes, sit outside, order a pizza, and still get the scenery people often expect from a more expensive Sedona restaurant.

We ordered the Peach & Pancetta Pizza, a House Salad, the House-Made Bread, and a Prickly Pear Lemonade.
The pizza and salad were easily the highlights.
The Peach & Pancetta Pizza is my go-to order every time I visit Hideaway House.
The combination may sound a little unusual at first, but it works. The pizza is topped with sweet roasted peaches, salty pancetta, creamy ricotta, and fresh basil. You get sweetness from the peaches, richness from the cheese, and enough salt from the pancetta to balance everything.
I always order mine well done for an extra crispy crust, and it never disappoints. That small change makes a noticeable difference, especially if you prefer pizza with a firmer bottom instead of a softer crust.
This is the menu item I would order again without even looking at the rest of the menu.
The House Salad was one of the biggest surprises of the meal.
Side salads are often forgettable, but this one tasted fresh and came with a house-made dressing that made it much better than I expected. The ingredients were simple, but everything worked together, and the portion was large enough for two people to share.
I would order the salad again with the pizza because the freshness helps balance the richer toppings.
The House-Made Bread arrived warm and tasted very good.
However, if I had to choose between ordering the bread or saving room for more pizza and salad, I would choose the pizza and salad. The bread is enjoyable, but it was not the most memorable part of the meal.
The Prickly Pear Lemonade is a fun non-alcoholic drink to order in Arizona.
It is fruity, refreshing, and a little more interesting than a standard lemonade or soda. Hideaway House also has several creative mocktails, which I appreciated since I do not drink alcohol.
If you want something cold while sitting outside, the prickly pear lemonade is an easy choice.

The outdoor patios have excellent views of Sedona’s red rocks.
Trees surround parts of the restaurant, so the patios feel tucked into the hillside rather than completely exposed. Depending on where you sit, you may have a clearer view than other tables, but the outdoor seating is still the main reason I would choose Hideaway House over a standard indoor restaurant.
It is especially nice during lunch or earlier in the evening when you can fully see the surrounding landscape.
The views are impressive, but the restaurant still feels casual. You are not paying for a formal fine-dining experience or sitting through a long multi-course meal just to enjoy the scenery.

The three open-air patios are one of Hideaway House’s biggest advantages, and the red rock views add a lot to the experience. Some areas are surrounded by trees, which helps the patios feel relaxed and partially shaded.
Indoor seating is still a good backup during extreme heat, cold weather, rain, or strong wind. The dining rooms are cozy, and there is also a full-service bar.
However, I would choose a patio table whenever possible.

It is not the cheapest casual meal in town, but the pricing feels fair when you consider the portion sizes, food quality, and patio views. Sharing a pizza and salad can also help keep the total cost manageable.

The pizzas work well for sharing, and the salads are large enough to split between two people. How much you need will depend on your appetite, but a pizza and salad can be enough for two people, especially if you also order bread or drinks.
I would avoid ordering too many starters before the pizza arrives. The bread is good, but I would rather have room for another slice.
Hideaway House is a good option for families because it is casual, the menu has familiar choices, and the portions are easy to share.
Pizza, pasta, salad, and bread are generally easier for groups than a more specialized menu. The relaxed atmosphere also makes it less stressful than taking children to a quiet fine-dining restaurant.
