If youβre looking for a Jade Mountain St. Lucia review thatβs honest, detailed, and based on actually staying here (not just drooling over Instagram photos), this is it. Jade Mountain is dramatic, quiet, wildly romantic, and unlike anywhere else Iβve ever stayed. Itβs also not a resort you just casually book without understanding what youβre getting intoβso letβs get into the real experience.
The road to Jade Mountain is rough. Like, very rough. Expect slow driving, tight turns, and sections where the road narrows to one lane and you politely negotiate with oncoming traffic. We rented a tiny Chevy Spark and made it just fineβbut slow is the name of the game. The drive after you get off the main road takes about 15β20 minutes, and yes, you will absolutely think, βAm I on the right road?β You are.
If youβre renting a car, renting a car makes this much easier when you want flexibility in SoufriΓ¨reβI recommend checking Discover Cars for rentals in St. Lucia, especially if youβre comfortable driving narrow island roads.
If youβre not renting a car, or you want to arrive like a total legend, Jade Mountain has a helipad on property. A helicopter transfer is hands-down the most extra (and amazing) way to arrive. I didnβt mind the drive, but the helicopter would absolutely elevate the experience.

The moment you arrive, youβre greeted by your Major DomoβJade Mountainβs name for their personal butlers. Ours met us with a fully stocked fridge and special snacks waiting in the room, which was perfect because we were starving and dinner was still hours away.
Youβre given a dedicated cell phone for your Major Domo, and itβs genuinely useful. Breakfast in bed? Text. Need reservations, spa appointments, or help with literally anything? Text. The service here is warm, thoughtful, and effortless without being overbearing.

Letβs talk about the roomsβbecause this is the reason you come.
Jade Mountain rooms are called βsanctuaries,β and theyβre all open-airβwhich means no air conditioning. You get a constant breeze, plenty of fans, and cooler temperatures at night, but it is not cool in the traditional sense. If you sleep with your thermostat set to 67 ππ½ββοΈ, it will feel warm.
For me, the views, service, and overall room experience more than made up for it. Worth it? Completely. But if you absolutely need cold air to sleep, this is something to seriously consider before booking.
Youβll also hear nature. Birds in the morning, frogs at nightβeverything. Itβs part of the experience. Iβm not a morning person, so the early bird soundtrack wasβ¦ aggressive. If you are a morning person, youβll probably already be awake anyway. A sound machine helps a lot, and once I adjusted, I was totally fine. All rooms have netting around the bed, and I didnβt get a single mosquito bite.
Hereβs how the room categories break down:
This is the lowest category and does not have a private pool. You still get the open-air concept and views, but no pool.
These have smaller private pools and good Piton views, though some may feel slightly more framed or partially obstructed. This is the best option if you want a private pool but are trying to keep the splurge slightly contained (not that anything here is cheapβletβs be honest).
One of my favorites. These have long pools that run through the room, more space than Star Sanctuaries, and excellent, more open Piton views.
Absolutely breathtaking. This is hands down my favorite room Iβve ever stayed inβanywhere. The room is massive. The pool is massive. The Piton views are completely unobstructed. Itβs the kind of space where you just stand there in silence for a minute when you walk in.
This is the highest category at Jade Mountain. Galaxy Sanctuaries are the most expansive, featuring wraparound infinity pools, the most dramatic vantage points, and ultimate privacy. If youβre going all out, this is as high as it gets.

Jade Mountain sits high on the hillside, and there are a lot of stairs. If stairs and walking arenβt your thing, this may not be the resort for you. My husband and I loved walking the property after dinnerβitβs a great way to explore and work off dessert.
Guests have access to two black-sand beaches via shuttle:
Anse Chastanet Beach
Anse Mamin Beach
Both were calm, quiet, and surprisingly clear when we visited. They ended up being my second favorite beaches on the island. (Rodney Bay still holds first placeβsee my Sandals Grande post if youβre curious.)
Dining at the beaches is excellent. At Anse Chastanet, thereβs an Indian restaurant, and at Anse Mamin, Jungle Grill is right on the sand. The watermelon gazpacho was a standoutβso fresh and refreshing that I ordered it every single visit. Everything is farm-to-table from Emerald Farm, including the angus beef from cows raised on the property.
I had the angus burger with pickled jalapeΓ±os, grilled pineapple, BBQ sauce, and then added banana ketchup. Trust me. Try it. Banana ketchup is made locally on the island, and yes, you can tour the banana farm.

Dining here is an experience. The restaurant views rival the room views, which is saying something. We booked dinner specifically for sunsetβI literally Googled sunset times for that date and made reservations accordingly. It was perfect.
The bread service deserves a moment. My favorite was a crunchy, chip-like bread paired with a cocoa butter spread that Iβm still thinking about. The chef also sent out a complimentary bite before dinner, and since I donβt love seafood, they brought me a vegetable option that was incredibly flavorful.
We ordered:
Angus beef stir fry
Bao bun
Tiger shrimp creole
Mahi mahi
Steak
Dessert was fine, but honestly, Iβd skip it. There were chocolates waiting for us in the room afterward, and those were more than enough.
One thing Jade Mountain does exceptionally well is making you feel like nothing is too much trouble. Your Major Domo can handle everything from unpacking and pressing clothes to romantic dinners on your terrace and packing you back up when you leave.
Yoga on the Celestial Terrace
Full fitness center
Wi-Fi
Daily live entertainment at the Jade Mountain Club
Anse Chastanet Beach access with chairs and towels
Snorkeling, windsurfing, sea kayaking, sunfish sailing
Tennis courts and clinics
Guided nature walks with the resort naturalist, Meno
Beach yoga sessions
Chocolate tastings, mixology classes, art classes
Underwater slideshow at the scuba center
Anse Mamin Plantation Walk on select days
You also have access to the Jungle Bike Center, Kayak St. Lucia, Spa Kai Belte, and boutiques at both properties.

Wellness is woven into the experience here. Daily offerings include yoga, Pilates, HIIT, core strengthening, and sessions with the resortβs wellness practitioner, Chamu. A wellness consultation is complimentary.
And then thereβs the pillow menu. You can choose from lavender-infused, goose down, cooling pillows, orthopedic options, bamboo pillows, full-body cooling pillows, and even a maternity βBabymoonβ pillow. Itβs one of those details that sounds extra until youβre using itβand then it makes perfect sense.
You could easily spend a full week here if your goal is total disconnect and quiet. This is a peaceful, intimate resort where you hear nature, not nightlife.
If youβre more active, I recommend 2β3 nights at Jade Mountain, then heading north to a more lively resort. You can learn more in my post about Sugar Beach or BodyHoliday St. Lucia if you want to balance relaxation with activity.
On a budget? One night is absolutely doable. Arrive as early as possible, request a late checkout, and maximize every minute. Check in, take an absurd number of photos, enjoy dinner, do a night swim, then soak in the tub with the Kai Belte bath salts (I loved them so much I ordered more when I got home). Wake up, take another million photos, order breakfast to your room, lounge by the pool, then shuttle down to the beach after checkout for a full afternoon before moving on.

This Jade Mountain St. Lucia review comes down to one thing: this resort is next level. Itβs an investment in yourself, your relationship, and slowing down. If you can swing it, stay at least two nightsβyou will not want to leave after one. This is, without question, the best resort experience Iβve ever had.
If youβre planning your stay and want to explore options, you can find hotels near SoufriΓ¨re here to compare stays, or pair Jade Mountain with another part of the island for a split stay.

The tulip fields in the Netherlands look exactly like the photos, except the photos donβt capture how massive the color blocks actually are stretching across the countryside. Or the windmills. Or the sheep randomly standing in the middle of everything like they donβt know theyβre in the most photogenic country on earth.
The honest caveat: tulip season moves fast, the fields rotate every year, and peak bloom is not a guarantee, it depends on the weather, the harvest schedule, and a little bit of luck. But thatβs also part of what makes it feel less like a tourist attraction and more like something you actually found.

Amsterdam has a way of making you feel like you need to see everything, and then rewarding you most when you slow down anyway. The museums and canal cruises are worth it, but so is just wandering neighborhoods, eating whatever looks good, and sitting along the canals with a grilled cheese and nowhere to be.

10 stops. One very full day. Zero regrets. Amsterdam has one of the best food scenes Iβve experienced anywhere in Europe, but the honest caveat is that some of the viral spots come with lines that will genuinely test your character. I skipped a few. I regret nothing.
Hereβs what actually made the cut on my self-guided Amsterdam food tour:
Fresh stroopwafels at Hans Egstorf: made right in front of you, warm caramel, no line. This one won.
Lourens cookie croissant: flaky outside, gooey chocolate inside. Did not share.
CafΓ© Winkel 43 apple pie: one of the rare viral places that fully lives up to the hype.
Davieβs Amsterdam for the Lelie sandwich: pastrami, pickles, marbled bread. Deceptively simple. Absolutely excellent.
De Kaaskamer to end the day: 400+ cheeses, grilled cheese with what they call ketchup (itβs not ketchup, and itβs better), and bunker cheese aged in underground military bunkers.
The full route covers 10 stops through Jordaan, the 9 Streets, the canal district, and the flower market area with a Google Map included so you can just follow along.

Thereβs a version of Gatlinburg thatβs all fudge shops and tourist crowds, and then thereβs the version that actually makes you want to come back.
Hereβs everything worth doing downtown, in the order Iβd do it: ποΈ
β¨ Start at @gatlinburgskypark before the crowds hit
β¨ Walk the strip mid-morning when itβs still manageable
β¨ @googooclusters stop (see my post from Tuesday: donβt skip it)
β¨ Dinner at one of the local spots off the main drag
β¨ Wander back out at night when the lights are on and it gets actually pretty
This isnβt your overscheduled Smoky Mountain itinerary. Itβs more of a βhereβs what Iβd actually do if I had one solid dayβ kind of list.

If someone told me Iβd spend five hours at SkyPark, I would not have believed them. And yet. π
Gatlinburg SkyPark sits above the strip and itβs one of those places that looks like a quick stop on paper and turns into most of your afternoon. The SkyBridge alone is worth it β longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America, and yes, you will look down.
β¨ SkyBridge (longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America)
β¨ SkyLift ride up with views of the Smokies
β¨ Walking trails with mountain views in every direction
β¨ Way less crowded than downtown
Fair warning: if heights genuinely freak you out, the bridge might not be your thing. The rest of the park is still 100% worth it. Full guide with tickets, tips, and what to skip linked in bio. π
