Dinner at Lindey’s

Wrap up the evening at Lindey’s, a longtime local favorite known for its warm, sophisticated patio. Order the bread and salted butter (baked fresh in Grandview), split an appetizer, and enjoy their seasonal entrées. If possible, reserve a table for golden hour — the twinkle lights make it feel especially romantic.

You can read more about the dining experience in my blog Unforgettable Dining at Lindey’s Columbus Ohio.

Nightcap

Stroll or drive slowly back downtown and enjoy a cocktail at The Keep inside Hotel LeVeque. Or head upstairs and savor the skyline from your room — the perfect way to close out day one of your romantic getaway in Columbus Ohio.

Day 2: Short North + Scenic Sunset

Breakfast at Fox in the Snow

Fuel your morning with a gigantic cinnamon roll and a cappuccino at Fox in the Snow Café. The pastries alone make this a worthwhile stop, and sharing one is practically a requirement for a romantic getaway in Columbus Ohio.

Explore the Short North Arts District

The Short North is lively, artsy, and full of personality. Snap photos under the famous High Street arches, browse galleries, and grab a second coffee at One Line Coffee if you need a mid-morning boost.

Lunch at North Market

Columbus’s oldest public market is a paradise for food lovers. Split a plate of Johl Mo Mo from Mo Mo Ghar (featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives), then browse for spices, flowers, or Ohio-made honey to bring home.

Afternoon Outdoors

Choose between a relaxing walk along the Scioto Mile, complete with fountains and skyline views, or a quick drive to Scioto Grove Metro Park to climb the fire tower. Both make wonderful additions to a romantic getaway in Columbus Ohio.

Dinner at Watershed Kitchen & Bar

For your final night, book a distillery tour and dinner at Watershed Kitchen & Bar. The moody lighting, creative menu, and cozy atmosphere make it the perfect romantic dinner spot. Order the mushroom pasta with short rib and end with dessert if you’re not too full.

Sunset Finale

Finish your romantic getaway in Columbus Ohio with a stroll along the Scioto Mile at sunset. Grab a bench overlooking the river and unwind before heading home.

The Dominican Republic is so much more than a beach destination… ✈️🌴

From slow mornings on the coast to stepping into history in Zona Colonial, and unexpected adventure everywhere in between, this trip ended up being so much more than we planned

And if you happen to be there at the right time… Humpback whale season in Samaná Bay is something you don’t forget. This is your sign to go beyond the resort and see what else the island has to offer ✨

Save this for your trip + send it to who you’re taking with you 🤍
We were just passing through the Dominican Republic when locals kept mentioning “Carnival” and within minutes, it was very clear something big was happening.✨

At the time, I didn’t fully understand what we had stumbled into. But after getting home and doing some research, I realized this is the birthplace of Dominican Carnival… and one of the most traditional, historic celebrations in the country.

And now that I know that? It makes complete sense. This isn’t just a parade… it takes over the entire city. If you ever find yourself nearby during Carnival season... go. No planning needed. Just follow the energy.
