Where you stay in Curaçao completely changes your trip, and Baoase Luxury Resort Curaçao is the kind of resort where you don’t plan much outside of it. I stayed here wondering if it was actually worth the price, and by the end, I had a very clear answer. It’s a very specific type of trip, and if that’s what you want, it makes sense.
If you’re still deciding where to base yourself, check out my Where to Stay in Curaçao (Best Areas + Hotels) because this feels very different from staying in Willemstad or on the west side.

We pulled up to Baoase Luxury Resort and I immediately questioned if we were in the right place. From the outside, it’s pretty unassuming, and I wasn’t fully sold yet.
Then they opened the doors, and everything changed fast. I walked in, looked around, and instantly got it (like oh… we’re not leaving the property… got it).

I checked in and started walking through the property, and it got quieter with every step. There aren’t crowds, no loud music, nothing pulling your attention in different directions.
I saw other guests, but barely noticed them after that. I ended up lowering my voice without thinking about it, and that kind of set the tone for the rest of the stay.

I walked into our Beachfront Pool Suite and tried to hold my composure until the butler left (and then immediately started air punching like I just won something). There was a private infinity plunge pool right in front, a garden wrapped around the space, and multiple outdoor areas that made it feel like we had our own setup.

I started walking through everything and realized how much space there actually was. The bedroom opened right out to the pool, and the bathroom was fully outside with a stone tub, rain shower, and double sinks. I stood out there way longer than necessary just looking at it and I already knew we weren’t leaving this room much (we didn’t).
I ended up putting music on the Sonos, setting my stuff down, and immediately settling in like we lived there (mentally moved in within 10 minutes).

The first day I dropped my bags, changed, and went straight into the plunge pool. From there I could see the beach, hear the water, and had zero reason to move. We ended up staying in that space way longer than planned, just going between the pool and the patio…and we were late to dinner oops ha.

The next morning I walked down to the beach and immediately noticed how calm the water was. It sits in a small cove, so there’s no waves really pushing in, and it’s easy to get in without worrying about waves.

I grabbed my snorkel (you can also rent them from free at the resort) and went out near the pier and stayed out longer than I expected because the water was that clear.

I came back up to my chair and didn’t have to do anything after that. A beach butler handled towels, drinks, and kept checking in, and they brought out snacks throughout the day without us even asking (which honestly made it very easy to just sit there and keep eating).

A few days in and I realized we hadn’t even touched the main pool. We kept saying we’d go check it out, but every time we had the option, we just stayed in our own space instead. However, once we did venture to the main pool we loved it!
Walking around the property, there were plants everywhere, birds, and random little lizards popping out (which honestly made it feel more tropical in a good way).

We went to dinner at the Culinary Beach Restaurant and sat right by the water. The ocean was basically right next to the table, and I didn’t even look at the menu that long before ordering because I knew I wanted basically everything on the menu ha.
The food feels French with tropical and Asian flavors mixed in, and everything we ordered wsa really flavorful. It wasn’t just good—it felt like a full experience from start to finish.
The food came out slow, but we didn't mind as we are on vacation—it was very european, and we ended up sitting there for a while just eating and talking (and that gave me time to already be planning what I’d order the next night).

We tried several of the themed nights at the Sunset Deck. It turned into a whole experience instead of just dinner. They rotate things like Mexican night, Indian night, Italian night, seafood, BBQ—so it doesn’t feel repetitive even if you stay on property the whole time.
If you’re planning to stay at the resort most of the time, the all-inclusive option actually makes more sense than paying for each meal individually.
Save this for later on Pinterest so you don’t forget it

I ordered room service the next morning and it showed up faster than I expected. Housekeeping had already been through once, and later that night they came back again and left fresh water by the bed.
I went down to the beach after that and didn’t have to do anything—someone handled towels, drinks, everything. It felt very taken care of without feeling like someone was hovering.
I ended up talking to Indy and Pablo at the restaurant a few times, and they gave great recommendations without making it feel forced.

I sat outside at night and could hear a little bit of traffic and some noise from the neighborhood. It wasn’t constant, but it stood out more since everything else was so quiet during the day.
It didn’t ruin anything, but if you’re expecting total silence, you might hear a little background noise at times (very minor and didn’t change the experience for me).

I looked at the map at one point and realized how close we were to Willemstad, but we didn’t leave. Every time we thought about going somewhere, we just stayed.
If you do want the option to explore more, renting a car in Curaçao makes it easier and gives you flexibility to leave when you want.

I kept comparing it in my head to Sandals Royal Curaçao, and they’re just completely different trips.
Baoase felt private, quiet, and very focused on the experience itself. Sandals felt bigger, more social, and more structured.
If you want a full breakdown, read Sandals Curaçao vs Baoase: Which Resort Is Better? because it really comes down to the type of trip you want.

Baoase is worth it if you care about really good food, want privacy, and plan to spend time at the resort. If your ideal trip is slow mornings, long dinners, and staying in your room longer than expected, this fits perfectly (we barely left and didn’t feel like we were missing anything).
It’s not worth it if you want nightlife, a packed schedule, or plan to be out exploring most of the day. You’re paying to be here, so if you’re not going to use it, it doesn’t really make sense.

If you’re already leaning toward this kind of stay, I’d check here to compare pricing and availability because this one fluctuates depending on season.
For flights, I usually look at cheap flights on Skyscanner just to keep that part simple and not overpay.
If you want to add something off-property, you can book a tours here to see more of the island without planning everything yourself.
I left feeling like the stay itself was the trip. We weren’t just sleeping there—we were actually using everything, staying in the room, sitting through long dinners, and being at the beach for hours.
And for that kind of trip, Baoase Luxury Resort Curaçao delivered (I guess you could say it was a suite deal).

I walked down to the beach and immediately noticed how calm the water was. 🐚
It sits in a small cove, so there’s really no waves pushing in. You just walk right in without thinking about it. I grabbed my snorkel (they actually rent them for free at the resort, which I didn’t expect) and went out near the pier and stayed way longer than I planned, because the water was that clear.
Honest caveat: if you need a lot of energy and activity at a beach, this probably isn’t it. It’s quiet, it’s calm, and you’re mostly just... sitting there. Which for me was exactly the point.☀️

Dinner at Baoase in Curaçao isn’t just a restaurant, you’re walking into a full resort setting where everything feels intentional. The table is right by the water, the food is French-inspired with tropical and Asian flavors woven in, and the whole thing moves slowly in the best way. We sat there for hours and didn’t want it to end.
✨ Culinary Beach Restaurant, oceanside tables, candlelit ambiance
✨ French-inspired menu with tropical and Asian influences
✨ Service that’s attentive without being over the top
✨ The kind of dinner you’re still thinking about days later
Fair warning: this isn’t a casual grab-a-table kind of spot. You’re making a reservation, thinking through your outfit, and blocking off the whole evening and it’s worth every bit of that.
If you’re celebrating something or just want one dinner that feels a little extra, this is where to do it. Full Baoase resort review linked in bio. 🔗
Curaçao has the beaches everyone talks about, and then it has these. The spots that made this trip actually feel like mine weren’t on any resort map. I found them by renting a car, asking locals, and just following what looked good.
✨ Playa Lagun: a calm little cove where the water does all the work
✨ Playa Kalki: rocky entry, but the snorkeling right off shore is worth it
✨ Playa Jeremi: no rentals, no crowds, no setup. Just the beach
✨ Fort Nassau: watched the sun go down over Willemstad and stayed for dinner
✨ Hofi Cas Cora: breakfast on an actual farm and the freshest food of the whole trip
✨ Willemstad Street Party: I had no idea Thursday nights turned into that. Just followed the music.
✨ Playa Forti: cliff jumping and amazing food, talk about dinner and a show!
Honest caveat: if you need everything planned and structured, a few of these will feel a little too unpolished. But if you like the kind of trip where the best parts are the ones you stumble into, this is exactly that.

Here’s the thing about Curaçao that nobody talks about enough there’s really no bad time to go. 🌤️ Outside the hurricane belt. Mid-80s nearly every day of the year. Colorful buildings no matter what month it is.
But there IS a difference between going in peak season vs. shoulder season, and it shows up in your wallet, your beach chair availability, and how long you’re waiting for a table at dinner.
Full breakdown of every season, what to expect, and when I’d personally go linked in bio.
I wasn’t expecting much. I just needed dinner. 🍽️ Kome ended up being one of the best meals of the entire trip.
Wood-fired everything. A menu that actually makes you read it twice. A vibe in Pietermaai that feels nothing like a tourist restaurant and everything like somewhere locals actually go. I didn’t rush. I didn’t check my phone. I just ate, start to finish, and enjoyed every single second of it.
If you’re in Curaçao and you only have one nice dinner make it this one.
