Historic, lively, ferry-friendly. If you’re arriving by ship, this is where you’ll dock. It’s perfect for exploring markets, colonial architecture, and hopping the ferry to Nevis.
Frigate Bay:
This is the resort hub—easy access to beach bars, nightlife, golf, and big resort amenities. Perfect if you want a more classic resort stay.
South Peninsula:

Dieppe Bay & Old Road:

Plenty of budget apartments and studios in Frigate Bay, Basseterre, and near the ferry terminal. They give you flexibility (and maybe the chance to cook some local beans & quinoa).
Tip: Choose ones within walking distance to the beach or local bars, so you don’t end up huffing suitcases uphill in the heat.
History and local culture lover? Go Basseterre. Markets, colonial architecture, ferry access.
Beach & resort fan? Frigate Bay has the bars, sands, sleek resorts.
Quiet retreat? South Peninsula is more secluded, less bustle.

Is one day in Fort Lauderdale enough?🤔
Yes. Between the bakeries, murals, shops, canals, and beach access, one day in Fort Lauderdale is plenty of time to see a lot especially if you focus your time around Las Olas Boulevard.
You can start the morning with coffee and pastries, walk past murals and shops, see the canals, spend time at the beach, and still have room for gelato and a giant Italian sandwich.
If you’re looking for an authentic Italian bakery in Fort Lauderdale, Pan’E Dolci Bakery Fort Lauderdale is absolutely worth a stop. This café-style bakery is known for its Italian pastries, desserts, coffee, and massive savory sandwiches. The display cases are filled with cannolis, cookies, croissants, and breads, and they even have 22 flavors of homemade gelato.
Everything looks so good that it’s honestly hard to decide what to order.
