If you're planning a trip and trying to figure out where to eat in South Beach Miami, this is the guide I wish I had the first time I visited.
South Beach has everything from loud party brunches to handmade pasta restaurants to classic Miami steakhouses. Some places feel like a full production. Some are cozy and quiet. Some are quick stops between beach time and whatever dinner reservation.
These are the restaurants I’ve personally eaten at, would absolutely go back to, and recommend without hesitation.
Let’s break it down.
If you’re planning a full trip around eating your way through Miami (which honestly isn’t a bad strategy), you can also see my guide to the One Week in South Beach: The Ultimate 7-Day Miami Itinerary for more restaurant ideas and planning tips.
And if you're deciding where to stay so these restaurants are all easy to reach, you can find hotels near South Beach here through Booking.com. Being able to walk to dinner instead of waiting for Ubers after a long beach day is underrated.

Best Breakfast & Brunch in South Beach
Bacon Bitch – Party Brunch Energy
At Bacon Bitch, the music is loud, the servers are singing, and there is a decent chance someone will be dancing before your pancakes arrive.
If you want quiet and peaceful… skip it. If you want bacon, loud music, and people dancing at their tables before noon — this is your spot.
The breakfast sandwiches are big and filling. The OG and The Curvy are both solid choices if you want something hearty. It’s chaotic in a fun way, but the food actually holds up.
Great for girls trips. Not great for kids. Unless your kids also enjoy brunch with nightclub energy.
If you want the full breakdown of what to expect (and what to order), see my full review of Bacon Bitch Miami Review: What to Expect at This Wild South Beach Breakfast Spot.

Limonada Bar + Brunch – Cute Brunch with Weekend Party Vibes
At Limonada Bar + Brunch, the menu leans classic brunch with a few fun Miami-style twists.
You’ll see the usual suspects — things like pancakes, omelets, avocado toast, and breakfast burritos — but also bigger brunch plates like steak and eggs and loaded breakfast sandwiches if you want something more filling. The French toast and pancakes are the kind of dishes that show up stacked high and covered in toppings, which is exactly what you want from a vacation brunch.
Coffee drinks are solid, but this is also the kind of place where a mimosa or brunch cocktail makes sense.
During the week, it feels like a relaxed brunch café. Good coffee, solid breakfast plates, and a place you can actually have a conversation.
On weekends though, it shifts into more of a day-party brunch with DJs and cocktails. Same menu, very different energy.
If you like a brunch that starts calm and slowly turns into a party, this one hits that balance.

Rosetta Bakery – Quick & Reliable Pastries
Sometimes you don’t need a full brunch production. Sometimes you just need a croissant and coffee before heading to the beach.
Rosetta Bakery is perfect for that. The display case is packed with Italian pastries — their signature croissants (plain, apricot, raspberry, cream, or Nutella), chocolate-filled saccottino, and the famous bombolone doughnuts stuffed with cream or Nutella.
If you want something a little different, they also have mini fruit tarts, crostatina with jam or Nutella, apple tarts, almond cake, and even individual tiramisu.
Croissant and cappuccino is the classic move, but honestly you could build a whole breakfast just from the pastry case. Fair warning: if you have zero self-control around pastries, you’ll probably leave with more than one. I clearly did.
Just good pastries and a quick stop before heading to the beach.

Best Casual Lunch Spots
Taquiza – Authentic Tacos Worth the Uber
Taquiza is technically in North Beach, not South Beach — but it’s absolutely worth the short Uber. If you plan to explore restaurants outside the main South Beach area while you’re in Miami, renting a car can make it a lot easier to get around. I find the best deals here so I can see different pickup locations and prices in one place.
The tortillas are made from handmade masa and the difference is obvious the second your tacos arrive. They’re soft, sturdy, and actually taste like corn instead of just holding ingredients together. The heirloom blue corn chips are the kind you keep eating long after you said you were done. Carnitas, pastor, barbacoa — all solid. If tacos are the mission that day, this is where I’m going.
You can read my full breakdown in my review of Taquiza Miami North Beach Review: Authentic Tacos in Miami Beach.

Naked Taco – Ocean Drive Energy
Naked Taco is a solid lunch option if you're already walking around Ocean Drive.
It’s busy. It’s loud. But that’s Ocean Drive.
The cowboy steak taco was our favorite, and the fried doughnuts at the end are dangerous in the best possible way.
It can get crowded, but if you’re already nearby it’s an easy place to grab a fun lunch before heading back to the beach.

Mister 01 – Yes, Order the Coffee Pizza
I know — coffee pizza sounds weird. But at Mister 01, order it anyway.
The crust is light and crispy, the toppings balance out the sweetness, and it ends up working better than it sounds. It’s one of those dishes you’ll still be thinking about later. The whole menu is good, but the coffee pizza is the reason I can't stop coming here when I go to Miami.
For the full story (and photos that will probably convince you), check out my review of Mister 01 South Beach Review: The Famous Coffee Pizza You Have to Try.

La Sandwicherie – A South Beach Staple Since 1988
La Sandwicherie has been around since 1988, which in South Beach restaurant years is basically ancient history.
The concept is simple: fresh baguettes, crisp vegetables, and sandwiches made right in front of you.
The real standout is their famous vinaigrette dressing, which ties everything together and adds a ton of flavor to the sandwiches.
It’s fast, casual, and perfect when you want a quick lunch without sitting through a full restaurant meal.

Best Date Night Restaurants in South Beach
Macchialina – Intimate & Handmade
At Macchialina, the pasta is the reason you're there. The menu focuses on handmade pasta with seasonal ingredients, and the dining room is cozy, relaxed, and much quieter than a lot of the restaurants around South Beach.
It’s not rushed and not trying to compete with the club energy happening in other parts of the area. Just really good Italian food done well.
If you want a relaxed but still elevated dinner, this is my pick.
You can read my full experience in my review of Macchialina Miami Beach Review: One of the Best Italian Restaurants in Miami.

Carbone – Old-School Italian Glam
Carbone sits on the opposite end of the Italian restaurant spectrum. The room is dimly lit, the bar is usually packed, and most people show up dressed for a night out.
The spicy rigatoni vodka absolutely lives up to the hype and is the dish most people come for. Reservations can be competitive, so planning ahead is a good idea, especially if you want a prime dinner time.
For exactly what to order and how far ahead to book, see my review of Carbone Miami Beach Review: What to Order at This Iconic Italian Restaurant.

Prime 112 – Classic Miami Steakhouse
Prime 112 is a high-energy steakhouse that feels very Miami.
Located inside the historic Browns Hotel, Prime 112 opened in 2004 and helped redefine what a modern steakhouse could feel like. Instead of the traditional dark, quiet steakhouse setup, the dining room here is lively, bright, and full of energy.
Expect a packed room, a dress-up crowd, and a reservation that people plan ahead for.
The menu focuses on high-quality dry-aged steaks along with some standout sides and extras. Things like the Truffled Lobster Mac and Cheese and Kobe Beef Sliders are part of what made the restaurant famous and still show up on a lot of tables.
It’s classic steakhouse food, but done in a way that fits South Beach — louder, more social, and a little more fun than the typical steak dinner. It’s also the kind of place where dinner can easily turn into a long night once the cocktails start flowing and the room fills up.

Prime 54 – Resort Steak Done Right
Prime 54 is located inside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
It’s a short Uber from South Beach if you’re not staying there, but the restaurant feels a little more polished and relaxed compared to some of the louder steakhouse spots nearby.
Great steaks, great service, and a good option if you want upscale dinner without the full South Beach party scene.
If you’re curious what staying at the resort is actually like, I break it down in my review of Fontainebleau Miami Beach Review: What to Know Before You Book.

Most Over-the-Top Miami Dinner Experience
Barton G
Barton G. The Restaurant is not subtle.
Huge presentations. Giant desserts. People at other tables stopping mid-conversation to see what just came out of the kitchen.
The portions are big, the presentations are dramatic, and the whole restaurant reacts when certain dishes arrive.
It’s expensive, but if you want the full “we are in Miami” experience, this is it.
The Dollar Dollar Bill Y’all dessert is ridiculous — in a good way.
For the full experience (and photos that will make a lot more sense of this), see my review of Barton G Miami Review: The Most Over-the-Top Dinner in South Beach.

Best Dessert Stops
Salt & Straw
Salt & Straw is a perfect after-dinner stop on Lincoln Road.
They focus on small-batch ice cream with creative flavors that rotate often. The company started in Portland and built a reputation for making ice cream using local ingredients and unexpected flavor combinations. You’ll see classics like sea salt with caramel ribbons alongside more adventurous options like honey lavender, chocolate gooey brownie, and rotating seasonal flavors.
It’s one of those places where you walk in planning to grab one scoop and leave debating between five different samples. The staff is happy to let you taste flavors before choosing, which is great in theory… until suddenly you’ve tried half the menu.
Which is how you somehow end up with two scoops. Or three. It happens.
